Ms. Alberta Benjamin started her career in 1977 with the Department of Defense working at the Pentagon, in Washington, DC as a Data Transcriber and Secretary at the US Army Health Clinic at the Pentagon. She later worked at the Fort McNair in Washington, DC as a Secretary Stenographer wherein she worked and continued with DoD for nine years. Later she worked at DC General Hospital as a Medical Secretary in the Cardiology Department for fifteen months before she started working with the Department of Veterans Affairs March of 1988.
Ms. Benjamin started to work at the VA, working in the Office of General Counsel where she was responsible for producing a variety of legal documents into final form as well as prepared transmittal's and other memorandums for inside and outside of the department.
Ms Benjamin remained with the General Counsel office for a total of three years before she began working with the Office of Acquisition & Logistics Office, a new established office that was created within the VA under Congress.
The newly established office was responsible for the establishments of Childcare Centers, Nursing homes, parking Garages, Building Renovations, and Golf Courses, which Ms. Benjamin was the office Program Manager. There, she handled the processing of all documents within the department. These documents were then sent to Congress for signature and approval. The office generated over 500M in construction sites in various states over the US. Ms. Benjamin remained with that department until joining the newly established Office called, “The Financial and Logistics Integrated Technology Enterprise” (FLITE) Team. In 2007, the team was responsible for the multi-year, enterprise-wide financial and logistic integration program to standardize functional processes and modernize the information technology environment supporting financial and logistics management within the VA where she worked as the Program Specialist. Ms. Benjamin worked over Administration and remained there until the closing of the FLITE office in late 2010. Ms. Benjamin was then transferred to the office of Procurement & Logistics where she currently held the position as Administrative Officer and handled Human Resources and was also Telework Coordinator for the office.
Ms. Benjamin graduated from Eastern High School, in Sumter SC. Attended Lacaz-Gardner Business School for Secretary Stenographer in Washington, DC; Performance Institute in Arlington, VA for Certified Government Administrator Manager; USDA Management Analysis; Strayer University Communications Major and Liberty University, Physiology and Christian Counseling. Ms. Benjamin received numerous awards and letters of appreciation throughout her tenure with the Federal Government and 35 years of service as she worked directly with the office management throughout her government career. Ms. Benjamin retired in 2013 and continues to enhance her knowledge and skills with Communication, Christian Counseling, and copywriting. These are her strongest areas as she always love helping others to reach their goals.
Ms. Benjamin, was born and raised in South Carolina, and currently lives in Woodbridge, VA with her daughter. Ms. Benjamin loves reading, arts, and paintings, she is very active in church and community.
We are excited about helping others pull out their creativity in writing and speaking. We hope to cause others to develop and grow in conversational and relational skills both orally and in writing. We believe it is an innate wisdom locked inside each person and can be fully developed.
